Why don't Christians follow the Bible.......?

Some Christian women said no.... so why do you not follow them?

1. Women should wear a covering on her head to show she is under authority." 1 Corinthians 11:7-10
2. Women should not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes. Timothy 2:9-10
3. Women should learn quietly and submissively. I do not let women teach men or have authority over them.
4. Wives should submit to their husbands in EVERYTHING. Ephesians 5:22-24

FOR ALL CHRISTIANS:

"If any man come unto me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brother, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he can not be my disciple." Luke 14:26

If you are so sure these are out of context... LOOK THEM UP!

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." Matthew 10:34-37

So only ONE church was supposed to follow this verse?

Paul wrote these letters to set an example for ALL Christians. Thats why it is in the BIBLE...

There is two ways of reading the Bible.With the Spirit or without it.You have chosen to read it without.Woman wore a covering on their heads at this time out of custom.A woman is to be in subjection to her husband but he is also to love her as Christ loved the Church and gave his life for it, or more than himself.Eph.6:25-33.You conveniently stopped at verse 24 of this same chapter.That is what I mean when I say it should be read with the Spirit. Your spirit is full of hate and deception and desires not the truth or you would speak it.
For those that might be lead to believe this muk. Read Galatians 3:26-28 And also 1 Peter 5:5 for we are to submit to one another.
I guess I left out the one about God, how He saw that it was not good for a man to live alone. Man could not have lived without the woman he was miserable.

They follow their thoughts. If a person is a born again christian they follow the Holy Spirit ( their thoughts ) . The bible was written for people who are not born again. A set of rules to live by until they are born again and are able to follow the Holy Spirit.
Some born again people act the way they do because it is lawful and permissable. See 1Cor 6:10 and 1Cor 10:23. God even said that he would confound the wise.

I'm a Christian, and I think that these verses were a sexist reflection of the times in which they were written. I adhere to the words of Jesus Christ. People become too caught up in these letters written by Paul and don't realize that many of the things that he said were in direct contradiction to the teachings of Jesus.

Jesus told us that there were only two commandments -- to love God and to love others. Paul is the biggest legalist of all time! The decision to include these letters in the Bible was an attempt to control others -- the message of salvation was great, but the ideas of Jesus was too liberating. There had to be a leash put on them.

Corinthians, Timothy, and Ephesians were written by Paul...I'd say Paul had a problem with women.

you know what, if you really want to know the answer...you shouldn't be posting it here..instead, you should go to a good Christian church and open your heart to the Lord..and build a personal relationship with Him... surely, you'll understand God's word more..and what it truly means...you take everything so literally..lean not on your own understanding, seek and pray for spiritual understanding, and strongly resist the thoughts that satan is putting in you mind...!!
