IE, if we're twins I'd refer to her/him as my twin sister or twin brother. What if there were three of us, I know we're triplets but what do I call the other two? My triplet sister??? My triplet brother???

Well, twins say, "This is my better half" so could you say, "Here's my better third"? Then people will ask what you mean. Or you could say, "You know how good things come in three's? We're two out of the three!" It does seem to me, however, that if I can say, "My twin sister" then you should be able to say, "My triplet brother."

You call them brother or sister because that's who they are. Unless, someone asks you if you are triplets, then you just say, 'yes'.

I think the term "insignificant others" would be acceptable in genial company.
Or you could agree on some numeric order, and refer to your sister and "Two" or "Three".
