is the digital vistaquest 3.2 megapxel a good camera?

For most peoples snapshot and photo needs, 3.2 megapixelks is certainly sufficient. However, many of the 3 mp cameras currently on the market use tiny sensors and cheap lenses and don't take good photo's. It's not just megapixels (resolution) that matters, esp these days.

Here is a website that I would recommend going to so you can compare the specs and picture quality of cameras within your price range. I don't know how much the camera you are considering is, but my experience has been that most under $80 digital cameras have very poor photo quality and also are not made to last. (My kids purchased several of these and all were terrible). Do your research before you waste your money ... better to spend $120-150 on a bit better camera.

Not really. Nowadays the minimum you should get if you want decent pictures is at least 6 megapixels. The Canon SD600 is the top rated 6 megapixel camera at the CNET digital camera site - when you look at user reviews only. I bought one based on that feedback and it is an excellent camera. Its around $200 right now.

Unless you are going to do professional photography or want to enlarge pics bigger than 8.5x11", you don't need anything above 3.2 megapixel. I don't know about the Vistaquest or its price, but there are many good cameras out there for under a hundred bucks.
