For everyday cooking I use finely ground. When I have something like Caesar salad, steak or pasta with cream sauce I like the coarsely ground pepper.

depends on what you are using it on. But I like pepper alot, so mostly I go with course ground.

Depends on what I am putting it on. With meats and salads I like a coarse grind, for everything else a fine grind.
