i have 2 12" MTX 5500 subs..and the rms for each sub is 300..peak power for both subs is 1800 total....also the connection is 2 ohm i believe

I need to know what kind of amp thats in the $150 and less price range..that will power these subs very powerfully, but wont blow them...

ALSO WHAT KIND OF AMP WOULD DO IT BEST, MONO or 2 CHANNEL??

A mono amp that's 600 watts RMS @ 2 ohms and is CEA-2006 compliant.

you can do it a bunch of different ways
1)a mono amp that is 600 watts at 1 ohm (hifonics bx 500 d $109)

2)a 2 ch amp that is 300 watts rms/ch at 2 ohm stereo (kenwood kac 7203 $139 )

3) a mono amp or 2 ch amp thats 600 watts at 4 ohms

but i got the prices at onlinecarstereo.com they have good prices and free shipping on orders over $100 read some of the reviews to help you pick an amp good luck

Go with a bazooka 500 watt mono amp. I have one and it works great

go w/ a low class d mtx thunder amp no more than 500 watts at 2 ohm mono should sound awesome, w/ proper enclosure for ur woofers. good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
