We are on your side. At my home group, you would have been welcome to stay, no matter how drunk you were.
I don't know what you mean when you say they were idiots at the meeting you attended. Was it because they suggested you might try to stay sober for the next 24 hours? Or that you might think about staying away from the first drink (so that you won't have the 2nd, 3rd, 4th . . . )? If that's what you mean, then they were just talking program, and you weren't interested.
Keep trying. I got sober 8 1/2 years ago. It can be done.

Hell I went to a AA meeting drunk when I was court ordered to go to 9 meetings to keep my a$$ out of a 3 year prison sentance. They kept looking at me like I didn't belong and I did something wrong by actually talking to them and telling them that I like to be drunk all the time. "Was my last meeting and I still got my paper signed".

Going to AA meetings drunk defeats the whole purpose. Belonging to this group doesn't give you license to attend meetings under the influence of alcohol. They are sympathetic with you as long as you abstain from alcohol and are really trying to stay on the wagon. But if you go there drunk, it's an insult to them. However, they shouldn't have been rude to you, but they do have a right to admonish that type of behavior. What were YOU thinking?

Who is the idiot here? Being on your "side" does not not mean they will condone you coming to AA meetings drunk.

THEY are on your side, but as long as you are drinking and/or drunk you will never see this, so don't waste their time and insult their intelligence by doing this. If you chose to drink then do it and leave those that have chosen to quit ALONE!! What sort of idiot are YOU?

....complete idiots - don't waste your time - start drinking again and enjoy life - AA will kill you quicker than booze...if you do have to go to AA ( family pressure, court order, ect...) get bombed everytime beforehand - it is the only way to stand their nonsense!!!!
