For one thing we can't expect, the world to embrace our beliefs but, the lord has commanded us, to be a light to the world, and not to hide our light under a bushel, but place in on a hill, and drawl all men unto us, through his teachings, before we could asked atheists to have faith, we have to show them how faith works through us, in other words we show them, through our own example, in our own lives how, Christ works through us, we can't save everyone from themselves, but that shouldn't make us stop trying, you never know how your words, might effect someone when their alone, with themselves for a while

In the face of mounting scientific evidence that erodes fundamental teachings of the Bible that relate to the material world, Christians MUST constantly convince themselves to uphold their FAITH.
Wikipedia, a nemesis of Christians and religious nuts alike, defines "faith": Faith is a belief, trust, or confidence, not based on proof or material evidence, but based fundamentally on volition often associated with a transpersonal relationship with a deity, a higher power, a person, elements of nature, and/or a perception of the human race as a whole. Faith can be placed in a person, inanimate object, state of affairs, proposition or body of propositions such as a religious creed.[1]
Faith is irrational, unsubstantiated by data. Feelings are not enough, even psychotics have feelings, many of which are unreasonable. Christian faith is a form of delusion or superstition.
As for the absurd notion that atheists have lost faith or lost a belief in the absurd, they never had the superstition in the first place.
Christians have faith that the Bible is the word of God. Atheists do not and most never did.
We agree on most of your rhetorical question.
What we do not agree on or have faith in is Christian dogma.

You make an excellent point. Most Christians can't concieve of living without faith. Then, when all the insults are shoved back and forth, they feel the need to justify their faith by proving that Atheists have it also, even if its in something different.
You are right, The Bible says that those who don't know Jesus won't understand living by faith. To assume that they do is giving them credit in an area which they know nothing about.

Because they do not understand what faith is, and that it is the ultimate evil. Faith is the deliberate rejection of the one thing that distinguishes our species from any other -- the ability to think, and thus to draw conclusions from evidence. As for the notion that there is a god, let alone that it has told you anything, people have been looking for evidence of such for millennia, and no one has yet found any.

Just because they are not Christian, does not mean they are lost!?
I was brought up in the Baptist church when younger and then "saved" by a more general church when a teenager, and HAVE NEVER THOUGHT THAT. I pretty much moved away from religion because they thought things that are not true to my SPIRIT. For instance: I have a gay friend, who has been gay since elementary school and we are still friends 20 years later. He is wrong in church, yet he has no doctrine to live by. He is being true to himself, which is what God would want all of us to do! None of us need scripture to see or follow God. I realized the truth for myself WITHOUT church when I had my own kids. Once my children were born, I realized they could do no wrong. No matter what my kids believed or did, I would be there for them. Then I realized: How could I be more caring, forgiving and loving than the God who created me!??!!? I CAN'T!!! How could God create me to be more understanding of my children than He Himself is of us? He couldn't and WOULDN'T! We can't be better than him, yet we love our children with such unconditional strength. I believe the "angry" God in the Bible is due to man's misinterpretation and fear during the times of writing the scripture. We are not better than God! We love our children, and would wish them no harm, just as He would. Why would God wish that on us, or anyone regardless of their faith, sexual orientation, etc. I would never hate my kids if they were Buddhist, Ugly, Muslim, Lazy, Wiccan, Fat, Adulter, Blonde Haired, Un-Educated, Lesbian, Atheist or Gay! Why would God hate them, and why would he care if ANY of them had ANY type of Doctrine to live by or not? I think He just cares that we actually CARE and THINK. I don't think we have a choice in who we are, and we each deal with it in our own way with our own help from God, and I don't think he looks down on any of it. We are made in HIS image, therefore, we must be, act and think like him!!! HE is NOT more understanding when it comes to accepting people! If YOU ARE, that is YOUR problem, and you should read the Bible again. I think you are missing the point in your religion.

Atheists have faith and a doctrine to live by. Its just different from christians. Atheism is a religion too... People just misinterpret it as meening you don't believe in anything when in fact, they just don't believe in a higher life. Its a religion based on morals rather than on infatuation of a higher being. Find a true atheist and talk to them about it. They could probably explain it better than I, seeing how I am not an atheist and used to be a christian, but am no longer that either.

What the heck are you asking? I don't have faith so I am set apart from you? Use your words... That is the definition of secularism, and religion is proven wrong by it. If all different religions think that all other versions of religions are wrong, then there are more religions that are wrong than right.

People like to insist that atheists have faith because their own faith is what is wrong with them.

I have always found it rather amusing that Christians treat the word faith as an insult.
Praise me, amen.
