Hells no!!! Once they've cheated (and you find out about it), it would be insanity to take them back.

It depends on your expectations and the two of you.

Simply put, unless you are the ultimate person for him/her and meet all their needs perfectly, or at least well enough that they won't risk losing you...

...you are now and always will be in competition with every other person that comes along only limited by their degree of religiousity and how much they idealize monogamy.

If they cheated once, it may be a learning experience for them that makes them realize that you are not worth risking.

So, you may consider letting them back once if they demonstrate supreme remorse.

Beyond the first time, the message should be clear:

"You are valuable enough to want to keep but you are not too valuable to risk nor do you meet all of their emotional or sexual needs."

At this point it's up to you to decide if you want to risk losing this person completely or whether you might be better off seeking love and/or sex elsewhere, either with or without dumping them first (and sending them a similar message).

So, to sum up:

The first time might be a learning experience for them, so you might want to consider forgiving that one.

Maybe even the first, but any more than one for sure says you aren't valuable enough to them to stay monogamous with and, unless sharing does it for you, you might be better off seeking a relationship elsewhere.

depends on what is important to you. I have taken someone back after they cheated and it was a mistake because the situation hadnt really been resolved and All I did was wonder if he was still being unfaithful or lying to me......Be strong and just move on, there is always going to be someone who respects u and will not cheat, u just need to find them

Nope.
That will just give them a chance to do it again, and hurt you.

I believe that if you take them back, they would think you are okay with the whole cheating thing and will probably do it again.

Depends on the situtation, but my first gut-instinct would be to say no. If they've cheated on you before they're more than likely going to do it again and think that they can once again get you back....

No, they are showing you no respect. If you take them back, you are showing them that they can walk all over you. They will only do it again and be more careful about it. The sooner you move on the happier you will be.

Depends if you can get over it or not. If you can't then don't bother trying, it wont be fun. If you CAN, you have to ask, is he worth it? Do you want something meaningful or just fun?

If he isn't worth it and you want meaningful then no. If you just want fun then sure why not. And if he IS worth it and you want something meaningful then you might try.

For me it isn't a big deal, but I know for my gf it would be huge.

I wouldn't! if he didn't think enough of your relationship to stay faithful, what makes you think he won't do it again given half a chance? I would never be able to trust him again. what kind of future would that be?

NO, it's obvious that they don't love you enough to be committed to you, why would you stay in the relationship and stay committed to them?

no because they will do it again no matter how many times they tell you they wont.
