it's about time to register for junior year, and with my medical carreer path in line it seems that I'll be taking 3 difficult AP courses next year (the maximum per year at my high school). I'm about a B+ student on average, so should I drop an AP or try to do all 3? (I'm very busy and have events every day after school, but this year I have 1 AP and 2 honors classes and I seem to be managing just fine)

It shouldn't affect you one way or another. Not if you're a B+ student. What happens to you in high school isn't gonna matter a bit when you apply to med school. Just have as much fun as you can. If you're already taking 1 AP and 2 honors classes, changing those honors classes into AP ones shouldn't be too much of a chance unless those honors classes were easy subjects for you and the AP ones are hard. I really doubt your GPA is going to change much either way.

The reason I say this is with a B+ average, you're not going to Harvard or any of the super prestigious schools. No chance at any of the bachelors/MD programs. So, you're going to go to a pretty good undergrad, but have to impress med schools with your grades there. Your high school career likely will never be mentioned (unless you score a 5 on an AP class and try and use that to fulfill one of your med school prereq classes).

This isn't a big deal. Most med students never mention anything about their high school careers when applying to med school. In fact, that's the case for most grad students period.

lol 3 AP classes? i remember when i was a sophomore and i tried to register for four AP classes: English/History (it was combined), chemistry, physics and calculus. my adviser and the assistant principal pulled me out of class and started yelling at me.
they told me "is this a joke, you can't take four AP classes."
basically they just thought i couldn't do it and would only allow me to take two AP classes.

as for how hard the classes are... well they weren't lying. the classes are hard but, the classes are basically just like college classes. If you are good with note taking, have good study skill and can delicate like an hour of homework for each class everyday, then yeah go for it 3 AP classes shouldn't be so bad.

oh yeah! DON'T PROCRASTINATE lol i did that so much last semester and it shows on my grade. i went from a 3.75 GPA to a 3.5

Take what you can manage. 2 AP's with A's look better than 3 AP's with C's.

I was thinking about doing that for next year also but you had to get recommended and my teacher said I would be swamped with work. He said the English and social studies teachers I get give out a lot of homework so that would be even worse. So I recommend taking only one. He said they are better for senior year. Hope that helped.
