The earths climate has been changing for 4 1/2 Billion years.
Its current warming trend has been contributed to by man in
an unknown amount....
Global warming is a tempest in a teacup and mainly
hyped by self serving scientists & politicians looking for funding.
The sky is not falling..
Man will adapt..
We will be fine...

huMAN is causing Global Warming. When nature produces a substance that will make the earth warmer, nature has the "things" needed to remove "it", but man removes the "things" that help preventing the warming of the earth.

All the planet's atmospheres are weakening so it'd be impossible for us to cause all the problems. I think they said something about it being caused by solar flares or something like that.
Since someone replied to me down there I'd like to ask a question to him. Then why are the Ice Caps on Mars melting? It's been observed for 15 years and it looks like it's going through the same scenario as we are. Oh and the Solar flare thing is just one of the many theories but all the planets are definitly going through changes. I think all we can do is prepare or try to find a way to thicken our atmosphere.

Your friend is correct humans are responsible for global warming just read this story. The 2nd one explains the role carbon dioxide plays in global warming.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/3928017.stm
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/shared/spl/hi/sci_nat/04/climate_change/html/carbon.stm
Most people like to personalize the debate over the cause of global warming by focusing on Al Gore, but Doctor Carl Sagan did a show COSMOS back in the 80's in which one of the episodes explained the role of green house gases in changing a planets climate.
Finally why has the Bush Administration muzzled NASA scientist in regards to their studies on climate change?
Why does the Heritage Foundation , funded by the fossil fuel industry , have to bribe scientists to back their findings?

Why? Your friend is correct. The current warming trend is almost certainly being heavily influenced by humans. You very much need to research both sides of this argument before telling your friend anything. Here are some excellent places to start:

Global warming is a natural cycle that occurs after millions of years just like the ice age, but humans are speeding up the process and possibly strengthening it to a point that nature won't be able to recover.

Ask him if it was humans that have caused the warmer and cooler eras over the last 25 mllion years. And ask them if we have anything to do with the polar ice caps on Mars melting. And ask them what we did to increase the radiant output of the Sun over the last half-century or so.
And lastly, ask them how much money Al ('I invented the Internet') Gore is going to make if the Kyoto Accords are forced on the industrialized countries, while the 3'rd World countries are still allowed to pollute, while he (and his rabid pack of sycophants) are all set to begin investing heavily in 3'rd World manufacturing operations.

Doug Donaghue goes to show how intellectually bereft global warming deniers are these days. All he can recount are the usual denier canards, which have been refuted over and over again.
Apparently his logic goes as follows - for 25 million years previous, all mushroom clouds on earth were caused by nature. Therefore, any mushroom cloud you see nowadays must also be caused by nature.
Seriously, where's the thinking here? Get over your personal hatred towards Al Gore and try to think about the actual science here.

Sorry, your friend is absolutely right.
Here's two links which explain why the video above is nonsense.

The sun isn't causing it. Solar radiation warming is less than 10% of human warming.

And, the vast majority of the world's climatologists agree with your friend.
