I am doing this whole internet dating thing. (yes I know the becareful) My question is I am 5'8'' and this guy I have been talking to says on his profile that he is 6'0'' and he says that is wrong, that he is 5'10''. What I'd like to know is that such a big difference in height? would you girls date someone who isnt that much taller than you? I am just kinda disappointed because I thought he was taller, but we have sooo much in common.

People the reason I am doing the internet dating thing is because I dont have time between work and school. Trust me I am hot, lol. Thats what alot of men say, but its not even about that. I am not shallow either, really I am not. I have just never dated anyone 6'0, is all. I just wanted to know what people thought. We are both in our late 20's. We have alot in common, it kinda scary, lol. We are meeting this Saturday.

O my gosh hunny! I have been with a guy for 5 years that is THREE inches shorter than me. It used to bother me allot, I mean he's SMOKIN hot, but I felt like we looked really odd together and I was embarressed to stand next to him. Now it doesn't bother me at all! It makes us different and makes as stand out. Don't let it bother you. Guys that date girls that are shorter than them or the same height tend to have allot of confidence. Wow.....I know exactly where your coming from. Am 5'7, and I have this thing where the guys I talk to, they have to be pushing 6'0 or more and I may let you slide if your 5'11. So the answer to your question, well it would suck if you were to pass up someone that you have so much in common with just because of height. Look at it this way he could have told you instead of being 6'0 his is actually 5'5. So just go for it. Now would I date someone that is not that much taller..........ummm.....lol..it hard to say but if am feeling him and everything is right about him, I would be a fool not to. As long as his isn't under 5'9 lol

You're being shallow. What you are really picturing in your mind is what the two of you will look like in front of your friends. Especially if you are in heels. I know the whole tall girl short guy thing is a big deal for you. After all you were looking for someone 6' or more. Just look at it this way, good guys are hard to come by, grow up and follow your heart.

most people lie on their profiles
so if he lied about being 6'0" ( and yes he lied it was not a mistake ), then what else has he lying about
move on
guys know height goes in their favor, hence they lie about weight, and age and height
and at age 20 if you are into inet dating
you got some self esteem issues
as any good looking girl need not go the net
only the ones with emtional problems, the fat or the unconfident one do the net dating and hence why all the horror stories about it

Well , he IS taller than you are. Besides I don't think it really matters unless you're a LOT taller than him! Now if a guy is say 4ft. and you're 5 7 or 8 , it could be a little embarrassing!

if you are really interested than 2 inches shouldnt break it,im only5'4" husband5'6 so it is nice to have the man be a liitle taller but remeber all kinds of goodies come in many different sized boxes

okay,, I probally shouldnt be preaching this, but I am marrying someone who is my height. To be honest with you, I am only 5' 3'' . He gets teased alot for his height, but u know what if you really like this person, it shouldnt matter how tall, how pretty, how fat or thin he is. You should like him for the important traits, not superficial ones..

well, u shouldnt care too much abt height if u love him. my best freind is going out with a TINY guy (serious) and its working out just fine.
And tall guys doesnt mean good. It's hard to talk to cuz your neck hurts (for me it was) , looking up at him and talking.
My and my crush are 4 inches apart and we're just fine. and my neck doesnt hurt as much (lol)

If you are willing to "date" a guy over the internet, then the height should be the least of your concerns.
