My husband and I are planning a 2+ week trip to Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England. I have been before, but my husband has not. He is not a big Travel Guide reader (or anything else for that matter), so I thought I could get him excited and involved with planning the trip if I rented a few movies set in the areas we are visiting. (i.e. Braveheart for Scotland). Does anyone have any other recommendations?

The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain-Wales and it actually stars Hugh Grant
The Quiet Man-Ireland
Michael Collins-Ireland
Rob Roy-Scotland
Finding Neverland-England
Howard's End-England

And this could go on for forever so I'm posting a link to movies that pertain to each of the areas of the UK and Ireland Cheers

England: http://www.amazon.com/gp/richpub/syltguides/fullview/XM10VUQDAZ1K?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0

Scotland: http://www.fife.50megs.com/scottish-movies2.htm

Perhaps the acclaimed film 'The Queen'... has great scenic shots. Also, recently watched 'The Man Who Went Up a Hill and Came Down a Mountain' set in Wales. I understand that Dublin and other various Irish costal locals provide the shots for 'Far and Away'. Other suggestions include Harry Potter or Monty Python for a bit of variety. Hope you have an amazing trip!
