My hair is so thick and nappy. I wear it in a bun or ponytail everyday and I flat iron it sometimes but never wear it down. What do I do? Any other styles? People always tell me to wear it down or put it in a differents style but I don't know how to.

Don't tell me to shave it! By the way my hair is brown, with gold streaks(natural)

And the stylist never ever does it correctly, it ends up looking the same way it did before I went to the beauty shop the next day

you could put on some hairclips, half ponytail, headband( really cute ones at wet seal, claires, limited too), or little curls/waves if you braid it at night
or if you are looking for a little more volume, you might considering getting a layered hair cut

I use smoothing products and not a flat I iron...

Try french braids or upside down twist (basically gather the hair at the base of your neck, then start twisting and raise it to the top... once you have that length twisted clip it and let the rest fall like a pony tail would.)

It may be worth your while to visit a stylist. If money is an issue. Go to JCPenney's. They offer a discount for your first time and their prices are reasonable. It sounds like you just need a good lesson so pay close attention and ask questions!!

You should really invest in a chi straighting iron. It works magic. There are also chi products that could really help your hair. Chis will run you about $100.

Maybe, you should wear it down, and curl it. (big loops.)

You can curl it, and wear it in a not-tight bun with little pretty butterfly, or flower little clip on all over your bun...(in my oppinion, very cute!)

hope i helped!!!

bye!
