That means you either work in the warehouse of supply or at the desk. If you work in the warehouse, you use forklifts and other such equipment to move around and maintain normally issued Marine Corps gear such as 782 gear, canteens, flak jackets, kevlars, etc. The other part of warehouse is to go to the transportation management office (TMO) and pick up the ordered gear. That gear is taken back to the warehouse, receipted for, and then issued to someone else. It's like working in the warehouse of a normal big business type such as Walmart or Sam's Club. The desk side of supply is the paperwork side. You order gear based on what your customer needs. You sumbit orders mostyly through computers, a few maybe through phones on the fiscal side. You keep in contact with the suppliers to make sure that everything is on track. When the gear is picked up by warehouse, you keypunch transactions to show that the gear has been received and reissued to the original customer. There's a chance that you will leave the base because of your job. That depends on what base and unit you get stationed at. You won't know that til you get orders and get to your permanent duty station

No. Although I wasn't in the marines. I was a supply sergeant in the Army. I left base a lot, in fact, the Army does not deliver, you( the supply guru) have to pick up the supplies from wherever you ordered, it may or may not be on base.
Not only that, I even got deployed overseas to the balkans( I got out before the current war started).
You will have to go everywhere they send you, to iraq, bosnia, afghanistan, etc.

A Marine is first and foremost a rifleman. Supply will be your day job, and you will rotate the foxholes at night like everyone else in the Corps. You may not leave the base, but you can count on defending it.

You are a Marine first and a supply clerk second. They won't teach you any supply stuff in basic. Everybody is subject to go forward. Supply needs to be there to provide more ammo, fuel, and food.

Marnes= fighting soldiers first, then your job second, unless your job is so important that you have to do it during a firefight which happens sometimes.

Supply isn't necessarily a drive through operation. Sometimes they deliver.
