oh i saw this on the food channel! it's a scoop of vanilla ice cream coated in corn flakes, and then deep fried. It's served on on a fried tortilla covered in sugar and cinnamon. And finally it's topped with some whipped cream and a cherry.

This is one recipe I tried before. It TOTALLY ROCKS! You can coat with shredded coconut too.

DEEP FRIED ICE CREAM

1 scoop french vanilla ice cream
4 oz. cinnamon
4 oz. sugar
6 oz. cornflakes, crushed
1/2 oz. honey
Whipped cream

Mix sugar and cinnamon and roll one scoop of hard frozen ice cream in the mixture. Roll the ice cream in crushed cornflakes. Make sure flakes stick to the ice cream. Immediately place ice cream back into the freezer to harden. To deep fry, heat oil to 375 degrees and immerse the coated ice cream approximately 5 seconds. Allow oil to drain from ice cream, then place in dish. Pour honey over the ice cream and whipped cream around sides. Top with maraschino cherry.

This is a very good dessert you can sometimes find in good mexican restaurants. It is a scoop of ice cream dipped in a coating, fried briefly and re-chilled. If I had the room I would of had it myself last time we went to the place that had it.The place I went serves it in a big margarita glass, making it look really nice!

Lovely! It's a scoop of ice cream that is dipped in batter and briefly deepfried. MMMmmmmmmm!

This is one kind of ice cream you really should eat with a fork, however. If the crust is hard to penetrate, carefully make little perforations with the tines of the fork and then cut along those.

Well when I had it was like rice crispy (fried), wrapped around a ball of ice cream. Then it had whip cream and drizzled fudge, with a cherry on top! LOLZ!

fried ice cream is really good. you take a scoop of ice cream and then put it an a batter and cover it all over. then put it in a fryer or skillet with oil (only dip it in there for a second or two)
then put it in the freezer and let it get frozen again. after it is froze put another layer of batter on it and dip it in the fryer again. and freeze again. you repeat batter, dipping, and freezing as long as you want. (depending upon how many layers you want.) normally four or five times is good. then after the last time you freeze it you eat it.

Generally I agree with everyone else but I've always found it to be rolled on coconut and not corn flakes.
