Nowadays, if some one says God spoke to him from a burning bush, he'd be either made fun of or hauled away in a straightjacket. Did god stop speaking directly or did he never do that.

God still speaks directly to people. His Holy Spirit speaks to those who stop long enought to listen when they pray. With practice it becomes easier to hear Him at other times.

When God spoke through the burning bush, that was during a time before the bible had even been written. Now, all the answers i need are in the bible. i believe that God has spoken to me through His word. But you know what? No burning bush here and some people still think i am weird! i don't think that is ever going to stop!

Well I dont know how to answer this since He hasnt. He speaks to me in many ways. Through the Bible is His most frequent of instruments but there are others. Magazines, newspaper, television and email etc. You may say oh thats just a coincidence well coinky dinks dont happen that often. Questions I have asked answered in the way asked. God spoke to many literally in the past. Ive heard some say they have had Him speak to them. If its literal or some other way Im not sure. All I can say is that the way they are answered could only come from Him. Some could only be answered by Him. Peace out...............

God has stopped speaking to and through prophets because the Bible is complete and there is no more revelation that needs to come. All God wants to say to mankind is contained within the books of the Bible.
Please see Revelation 22:18-19.

Nowdays God speaks through His Word.

The real question ought to be Not "When did God stop speaking to man?" But rahter "When did MAN stop listening to GOD?!'" Of course god speaks to men today! he does it thorugh his word, through circumstances and through his spirit! Our problem is that we live in an age of unbelief, when man is so occupied listening to tvs radios stereos etc etc that he has very little time where he actually tunes in to god to hear his voice. i know God speaks to men today, that is why there are so many people adamant all voer the world giving their testimony of how their lives have been so wonderfully transformed by HEARING what the SPIRIT says today! (And if you are wondering WHAT the Spirit says today, read the last chapter of the book of Revelation, it will tell you! the Spirit says Let him that is thirsty COME to the rivers of life and drink FREELY!

The Bible is the whole, finished word of God. You will find many instances within its pages of God speaking to His people. His Word is alive and able to do its work in our hearts today. Just read and listen.

There is only one speaking angel, and that is Gabriel, Herald of the Lord.
God speaks to me through His Word, through revelation by the Holy Spirit ( this is tested by waiting for confirmation from another believer), and through other believers like myself ( also confirmed).
He never stops speaking to me - I just need to listen!

God and His angels haven't stopped speaking directly to man. They still do that to this day. I myself have spoken to an angel.

I am thinking that he has been speaking to us directly, it all started to end when we were full of sins and became very distant to Jesus and God.

yes, he did. He told us he would. He said he would leave us and leave us with the holy spirit. The holy spirt is sort of like our consious. God still speaks to us, through our hearts and the holy spirit, not where human ears can hear.
