I have had two different answers to this question and I was just wondering what really happens if you swallow gum??

Nothing. Some people claim you'll get appendicitis, or it'll collect in your stomach and you'll need surgery, but those are old wives' tales. It may seem sturdy while you're chewing it, but the truth is, your stomach acid dissolves it completely.

I've been swallowing gum all my life and never had the slightest problem.

It comes out the other end just as everything else does. Oh and getting close to the TV wont mess up ur eyes ether. It may affect your mind though.

If you don't swallow lots of it you'll be ok. It doesn't really digest too well, but will usually pass out of you.

Samething as that happens with all of your other food. It just takes longer because it has sticky substances.

it may or may not ruin your digestive system, or you could die... just kidding not about the digestive system though.
