Dear Godzilla,
I have very mixed emotions about that. Not about who is better by any definition. But, if I may stereotype, what about which inclination is more likely to be open-minded.
For the Christians: Some of us were open-minded enough to trust Jesus' promise to send the Holy Spirit to witness (individually) to us that if we became born again into a personality and justice system of forbading grudges and revenge we would go to Heaven, after our stay here on Earth.
(I had assumed all Christians had read that promise from Jesus, but I have realized from this chat group that Church Christians have a completely different belief on how they are going to get to Heaven. They quote Paul and Peter and Leviticus instead of Jesus. )
Back on point: Open-mindedness
I have asked several folks to review a few chapters in one of my books before it goes from paper back to hard cover. It is a simple little story about God, before he came to Earth.
All Christians who volunteered to review it have quit by saying or implying that it is against their religion.
The Atheists who volunteered have not only read the selected chapters I needed reviewed, they have offered very good and intelligent advice, corrections, and in some cases very constructive criticisms. - Call me a Hindu, but I have learned to love these Atheists with there matter-of-fact honesty and open-mindedness.

Hello. My first thought was that I would not say Christians are better people than atheists, but then again in some ways they are. The first thing I thought to contrast the two is that Christians (i.e. those who are true Christians and not of a cult such as Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses etc.) do know the truth. Yes, Christians make mistakes, blow it from time to time, but still they know the truth and who to go to... God! When this life is over and the Christian who's life is found in Christ... heaven will be their destiny and place of rest. Yet those who are atheist who don't acknowledge God nor have had their sins forgiven don't have this assurance. Heaven is a real place as is hell, and so there's but these choices for final destination. I don't know of any atheists who reach lost souls and give them hope for their lives, feed hungry children and tell them about someone who loves them and died for their sins. What is the real resolute contribution given by atheists? To deny the existence of a Divine Architect and Creator of life is to deny the truth they know even by the witness of nature. Why care for the dying if there's no afterlife? So yes, a child of God who's working to bring about hope and peace in the lives of people who need it is worth immeasurably more than an average atheist. Just being real with you.

I wouldn't stereotype.
It's actually irrelevant if you're an atheist, or a Christian, or a muslim, or etc...Being a Christian doesn't make you better.
There's "rotten apples" in every bunch - Christians included.
How would you define "better" exactly? (Just curious) I can't answer your question, until you are more specific in what defines "better person"...
"Just a sinner, saved by grace" - God Bless.

it depends! They do have a better hope than most atheist, but athiest can be the nicest of people! It deosn't mean they are promised eternal life though or that a miracle will be done for them, but they can be okay!

Neither is better as group. On an Individual basis the answer would be yes and no.

If you mean better as in our souls are perhaps in better condition than an atheists, then my answer is maybe.
If you mean better as in we are above them, absolutely not.

We were all created from the same mud. We were all born in sin(fair or not),we all have access to the same God.
Not better...just saved by one who is better than all of us.
