Well, I wanna shed a few pounds, and I've been told cardio word outs are the best way to do it.

I've also been told that running/jogging are examples of cardio, but would jumping on my trampoline be concidered cardio?

I also have a Gazelle work out machine. Is that good for fat burning?

Also, What is the difference between cardio and aerobics?

What are some examples or aerobics?

Finally, what are some cardio work outs that could be done without leaving my home?(i don't have a pool or stairs)

"Cardio" refers to cardiovascular or cardiovascular fitness. Yes, using a Gazelle is a good way to "burn" calories. By raising your heart rate to a higher level than your resting heart rate you are doing more work and thus, burning energy. Your heart and vascular system are the means by which you pump blood and oxygen to your working muscles.

"Aerobics" refers to the body's ability to burn energy using oxygen. Again, you do that by exercising. The oxygen (O2) is needed to burn energy most effectively and efficiently when you exercise. Anaerobic workouts aren't for burning fat, they are for building muscle bulk and strength.

Depending on your body's fitness now, "cardio" work could be at 100 beats per minute and walking down the street. The more "fit" your heart and muscles are the more exercise you can do and the more calories you can burn. This ties into aerobic fitness. The more "fit" your muscles are (including the heart muscle) the greater their ability to use O2 efficiently. That means they are aerobically fit and you have aerobic fitness.

Start slow! Walk, dance, skip, jump rope, swim, bike, hike, trampoline, any of these can get your heart rate up. You just have to pick what you like to do.

A change of lifestyle is the way to go. That means getting into doing what you like and keep doing it! :)

Talk to your doc before you begin something new. She/he will direct you about a good target heart rate.

Best of luck!

PS. Try the book Fit or Fat by Covert Bailey. He is blunt, but good.

All aerobics is cardio, but not all cardio is aerobics. The definition of cardio is that it focuses on keeping your heart rate elevated for a long enough period of time to give it a good work out.

Trampolines are great for cardio, as long as you are constantly jumping up and down. A Gazelle machine is also good, but make sure you have a good amount of resistance, or you won't be burning many calories. Just remember that for cardio to be effective, you need to keep it up for more than twenty minutes. To lose weight, you should keep it up for 40 to 60 minutes.

I am a big dork, but there is a really easy cardio workout to do at your home - and it's fun! I like to play the PlayStation game Dance Dance Revolution. It has three levels of play where you dance on these dance pads to hit the buttons. It also has a workout mode where you can set the music to keep going for a certain amount of time, or until you hit an estimated calories burned. It's actually a really good workout. It keeps your heart beating fast (on the two higher levels), has a good mix of fast and slow songs, it works your legs out fantastically (it is the only thing that has ever kept my thighs in check), and it also is pretty good for your abs, too. You should check it out!

Good luck!

Jumping on a trampoline could be considered cardio if you did it long enough and hard enough to get your heart rate up and at a steady pace some where around 70 to 80 % of your maximum heart rate. Aerobics have to do with oxygen flow, cardio has to do with heart rate. Running and jogging could also be considered aerobic depending on how they are done. You due running or jogging at home though it might be boring. The work out machine might be good at burning fat if you know how to use it. Diet also plays a part. As with any exercise program you should talk to you doctor first so you don't over do it and injure yourself.

Um, i don't think trampoline is cardio. The springs are doing the working out not you. I'm not sure but I think cardio is almost the exact same as aerobics (muscle development) but more intense. Like running, skipping (cardio) and yoga or pilate (aerobics)

Cardio work outs that you could do at home.. jumping jacks :) jogging on the spot? Try pushups and sit ups, planks

I use the trampoline - I love it! It works so well, its like running but without the impact and it certainly is a good cardio workout.

Yes, but I'm not sure they're good for your joints. I mean the impact of the fall might gradually ruin your joints. Swimming is the best cardio ever no impact at all. You even improve your breathing.

Trampolines are fun and good excercise. Way less impact on your joints than running, too.

I don't think the springs are doing the work. If they were then it wouldn't be so tiring and I wouldn't be so sore right now.
