Not sure if it's actually weird - I think it's dangerous because you never know who's actually on the other end of that computer.

You can't know 100% sure if you can trust the person or not. It's a lot easier to type a lie than it is to actually say one. No matter how honest you think you're being or how honest you think the other person is being, I bet at least one of you is telling one small lie. It's not safe to date over the internet.

It's not really weird, because people are good at saying what they know you want to hear. But it's not safe. I'm not just talking about physical safety either. You could get your heart broken if the other person is lying to you. It's really just better to date someone that you actually see and can go out with.

How do you date someone over the Internet, and not in person, unless you mean , you have a date on the Internet at a certain time to log on to talk to some one.

it depends if its like with a video thing then not that wierd but if its just through emails and stuff yes because you never really know what he looks like or what he really like because he could show you any random picture. If I were you i wouldnt date over the internet but if you really want the relationship then try and meet face to face and spend time with each other. But you never know that person could always be cheating on you and youd never know

i personally "dated" someone over the internet before. it lasted a really long time too - prob around 8 or 9 months. i would not suggest it though. having online conversations or just talking on the phone doesnt allow you to argue about anything or get in any normal and healthy "relationship fights". Everything is just boring and the same everydayyy AND you never get to see them. which trust me....gets veryy..difficult after awhile. if you know what i mean hahaha. also, when you do see them it's awkward because you've shared so much of your life and personal situations with them that there's nothing to really talk about and its like "okay well you know just about everything about meee what do we do now". personally i wouldnt recommend it.

Somewhat. I mean you dont even know whos behind that monitor your talking to. Imagine someone impersonating as someone else online. Its very risky but I suppose if you take it very carefully and take the relationship more slowly online then it could work out.

You just have to be a lot more catious when dating online. Thats the moral of the story. It works for some and others it doesn't.

to some degree it is unusual only because it is not a uniform occurance. With the internet age it is slowly becoming a more respected and understood form of dating- the primary concenr stems from the fact it is far easier for people to manipulate their personalities and perception based on the fact they are not meeting you face to face. I think if you can manuver the internet well and are able to follow your instinct you should be successful if you are planning on using it- sites such as craigslist are more challenging because it's such a stop and go site with people who use it for certain purposes able to come off as though they have other more socially acceptable motives- be careful, but of course have fun.

Only you can decide if it's weird or not. That's your personal opinion.

However, I will tell you that I met my boyfriend on the internet. And, by the way, we weren't even looking. We happened to meet talking about cars.

And he is the most wonderful person I ever could have met. To find someone that loves you despite everything that he knows about my past (friends first!) and all my weird little quirks now...

Nothing weird about that.

it's not necessarily weird, but it's hard and you can't really say you know the person because they could be making everything about themselves up. i suggest you go for a person you know and have met in person. it's your choice if you're comfortable with it then go ahead, but just remember that the internet is full of creeps and pervs so don't give out your whole life story or anything.

Good Luck! And remember to be safe!
