We diabetics don't have a lot of choice in the matter. Besides, if this were true, why doesn't everyone who drinks artificially sweetened products have all those diseases?

Because our "beloved" U.S.A. FDA has convinced many people that these substances are safe when they aren't. I totally agree with you and I avoid this and all of the artifical sweeteners you mentioned and then some at every turn. Another one will pop up in a few years, because they have patents on them--meaning each brand is someone's or a group's invention. Billions are being made at the expense of U.S.A. citizen's health. You think the FDA is protecting you? Spbssssh! Puhleeeez.

The first time I consumed sucralose I got this raging headache and immediately drank some water to flush it out of my body. It's gross. I will never ingest it again. I already know about the other sweeteners and I avoid those. I don't understand why others don't make the connection with how their health is compared to what they eat and drink.

Another problem is that many people in the United States are physically lazy and don't want to exercise, so they think aspartame and sucralose are an easy ticket to losing weight, when they are nothing of the sort. Who would want to consume this stuff anyway, it tastes NASTY.

Because I'm concerned about the harmful effects of many sweeteners, including granulated white sugar and high fructose corn syrup, thought I had found my golden ticket with Stevia, but Stevia also has a nasty after taste that I can't seem to get past.

Well the manufacturers have to keep you consuming their products somehow don't they? If you wont drink/eat something because it has sugar and is fattening...voila! We have an alternative and hey, it's ZERO calories!!! Watch out for the stampede!!

Did you know a can of cola has something like 7 or 8 teaspoons of sugar in it? Would you put 7 or 8 teaspoons of sugar in your TEA or COFFEE?

Remember sugar is 15 calories per teaspoon so look at the calories in a pop.

Drink good old H20. It was heaven sent for a reason.

If this is true, how come there are no reports on it, no reports of alarming numbers of people in hospitals because of these symptoms, no law suits, nothing. If this was true, these products would have been off the market long ago either at the decision of the FDA or just from the shear number of lawsuits. I know dozens of people who have been using these products for years and have no symptoms at all. How can that be if these products are this bad? I see you've listed no sources; where are you getting your information?

definite it does. The energy in soda come from sugar. Any weight-alleviation plan or sugar unfastened soda is composed of synthetic sweeteners. In gentle beverages, the main ordinarily used synthetic sweeteners are aspartame, sucralose, and acesulfame potassium.
