19 female from NYC-
I spent- in reality wasted- 4 years of my life putting my self in situations that promoted cocaine use as typical. It's a popular drug only to a degree and many people go through life without seeing it or ever using it. Depending on the enviornment you come from- schools attended, aprents background and hangout areas- you can find it in just about every city (I have found it in every city I've lived in and that's 4/5) it's a horrible habit that spirals out of control and I know people that literally watched their lives go up their nose- I know someone from high school (they'd be about 16/17 now) who blew $5,000 in one night- it's a fast paced drug of excess and it's a shame that people utilize it to any degree whether thats experimentation or heavy usage. Best of luck in your decisions and never let unworthy temptations steer you the wrong way

It is not a "normal" thing to do, but I would not consider it a bad thing to do either.
Yes I have done it, I don't do it often, but if the oppurtunity is there and it is cheap, then yeah I would do it again. I also hold myself to the rule "only once a month" , it is FAR too addicting to do it anymore than that.
It is not widespread among my peers, but I do have friends/acquaintences that have done it.
I am male, 22 y.o., and live in the midwest USA.

Georgie, cocaine effects people of all ages, it is very dangerous and addictive. It can cause a person to lose everything. stay away from it don't let the peer preasure get you trapped, it is widespread because it is so addictive. Bottom line is it distroys people and kills them. Although popular it is no good for anyone.

I don't take cocaine, and I don't know of any of my friends who do. I'm 26, female from New York state.
There is nothing normal about taking a dangerous drug like cocaine.

No I don't take cocaine. It is not very common among my peers. I am 36, male and live in Australia.
Anyone who takes drugs, other than doctor prescribed, is an idiot and needs to be shot.

I am 33, M and from Baltimore. In my area, or better stated, my ring of friends I know of NONE that use cocaine. But it is widespread amongst many obviously...but I chose not to surround myself with them.

Cocaine use is considered normal usually by those who are looking to justify their lack of ability to solve problems in socially acceptable and proper ways.
Those who indulge also seek info from fellow users to justify their continued abuse, and usual addiction ,by minimizing the problem because "everyone" i know uses it, so it isn't a problem.
