I think something is out in my back, but not sure. I just started birth control pills 5 days ago, I know there is a concern for blood clots. I wouldn't think my entire leg would hurt if it was. Just want to see what u think.

I did do a lot of jumping on the trampoline with the kids this weekend. Also I had fractured my foot about 9 months ago and the foot has never been the same and is on the same side as the pain.

If your leg is swelling, hot and/or red, get tested for DVT immediately.

A DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis, or blood clot in the vein) can make your entire leg hurt, depending on where it is located. If it is obstructing blood flow in the iliac or femoral veins, your whole leg on that side will hurt.

If you suspect DVT, do NOT massage the leg. Doing so could cause the clot to break off, and enter the lungs, killing you.

All that being said, I'm not sure that you'd get a DVT so soon after starting birth control. However, if you have any of the symptoms listed above, go to an emergency room.

I would say to report your symptoms to your doctor immediately especially since you said that you started birth control pills (I don't personally take them) and that blood clots are a concern. Call your dr's office and if get the answering service, tell them of your concerns and ask if the dr can call you back.

Go to a doctor! My grandma got blood clots in her leg, and she almost went into a coma! You had better go get that checked out!

This is not normal and I would have it checked by a doctor. Unless you had a very intensive workout involving those bodyparts, something "being out" in your back would not effect your ankle. Have this checked immediately!
