THe hallmark castle is actually patterned on King Ludwig II's Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria.

One line of our family "has" a castle, Fillingham castle in Lincolnshire. We all wanted to claim it.
As it turned out... the proven ancestor was in Maryland some 100 yrs before the castle was built, and it turns out that the name comes from the location in the village of the same name.
Many families have stories passed down of noble beginnings, in the background, which turn out to be wishful thinking. If you have Hallmark as a family name, you need to do some solid research on your own ancestry.. going back from YOU, step by step and documenting it.
ON google, the only Hallmark castle I could turn up, was related to Disney and Sleeping Beauty.
