1. Scruff him and bath him. Do not get water in his face. It will make things worse. Best to use two people one to hold and one to wash. Be sure to hold the feet as he will scratch once you head for the water. Towel dry well. He will finish by licking himself.

2. Only a door will solve this problem.

3. cooked chicken, cooked beef

Don't forget cats need twice the protein that dogs do so they require a lot of protein. In a pinch you can give a cat any meat you have on hand, cheese, milk (not too much), sweet potatoes or yams (yup, they like it!), tuna (or any fish) or eggs. Better skip the bacon. They like it but it's too fatty for them.

When you bathe a cat it can help to put a towel in the bottom of the sink or tub. They hate feeling like they can't get a grip on anything and will try to escape to feel more secure. I also use my hairdryer on low to dry my cat. He doesn't like the dryer but it's best to get a cat dry as quickly as you can. Sometimes a good rubdown with a towel will do and they usually like that.

Confining a cat is tricky. I've had cats escape from just about everything except a shut door. They can't stand knowing there's more to explore beyond that door! LOL

1. You do not ever wash kitty unless kitty has gotten into something dangerous or really gross (like motor oil or something). In that case, you need to use a really gentle, soap-free shampoo and warm water and you will need someone to help you.

2. The only way to really blockade a cat is with a door. They are excellent climbers and jumpers.

3. If you accidentally run out of food, you can feed cooked boneless skinless chicken with a little bit of rice, no seasings or fat. But only for that night--you need to get her some real cat food soon after.

They usually like just about anything you eat. It will probably eat the eggs better if you cook them. My cats never really liked raw food. Giving him a bath ain't to tough unless he gets a hold of you. Hold him with one hand below his belly and use your other hand to soap him up and do avoid his face. I agree with the other poster about the dawn dish soap it seems to help kill fleas too. How big of an area do you need to confide him to? If you are just talking about somewhere for night time try putting a clothes basket upside down over him. If he is kinda large put a book on top of it and remember to stuff the handles of the basket with a towel or something.

NO ONION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is one of the most toxic things you can give to a cat along with aspirin or any other human pain meds. You can always give the meat from some cooked chicken. Bacon is very, very fatty and would probably cause a stomach upset and/or diarrhea.

It is probably better to have the kitty skip a meal till you get some of its usual food.

to wash my water fearing cat i ran warm bath water in the tub and slowly dipped his paws in the water which he didn't like and i slowly lathered him up and slowly poured water on him while speaking in a soft calming voice even though he cried alot because i was speaking softly and moving ever so gently he didn't fight back as much and make sure you don't get water in the ears and eyes

closing off certain areas i would close the doors the rooms i didn't want the cat to get into. or but the cat in a special room where it felt happy and comfortable

i always stocked up on fresh cans of tuna and salmon raw fish and chicken just in case i ran out of cat food.

wash kitty only if it needs it: stinks from outdoors, etc, start as kitten.
why are you blocking it out? cats really like to be free, more than dogs. usually only doors.
do not feed dairy, fatty fried foods, a lot of tuna(runs). dog food will work for overnight, may cause blindnes if fed too long.

ok 1.) to wash a cat you just have to tuff it out and do it in the sink or tub and just use dawn dish soap or suave shampoo .
2.) put it in the area and then if it trys to get out then squert it with water.
3.) i have found that canned tuna or cooked chicken will keep them till morning and till you can get food.
