How long can you keep on hair color on hair before you rinse?

This box says that you should apply then wait 5min and then rinse.
Would anything happen if you leave it on for more than 5 min?

if you want to dye your hair darker and leave the dye longer it will become darker.
if you want to dye your hair lighter and leave the dye longer it will become lighter.

All color lines are different. Generally speaking, it's best to follow the manufacturers guidelines. Leaving it on for longer than what is recommended can be damaging to your hair. Depending on the condition of your hair to begin with, it could leave your hair trashed and unhealthy, or in some cases literally melt the hair off. Everyone's hair is different and the instructions are intended to make sure nothing bad happens. If you leave your color on a little bit longer (like 10 minutes?) you'll probably be fine.

Well, it depends on the product. But, I always leave color on for about 15 or 20 minutes longer than the directions say, especially if you are using a semi-permanent product. Otherwise, you are rinsing your money down the drain as the color won't hold. Do a patch test on just one section of your hair. That way you'll know. Good luck !

wait at least 20 minutes. unless you dont want it to work. If you bleach it and it starts burning, dont rinse it out until 20 minutes or your hair will be orange. Pain is beauty.

extra clever do a try first so your hair does no longer all pop out. i does no longer go away on extra effective than 20 minutes and you nonetheless want a conditioner that does no longer interfer with the colour. make certain to apply gloeves and stay away from getting it on your eyes and on your epidermis.
