mix salt and baby oil together and exfoliate your face, and then put palmer's scar serum on it. It's basically vitamin E. Do this every morning and every night and they will get way lighter in just a few days.

It depends on what type of scars they are, how deep they are, how long you have had them, and your skin type and pigment.
The best person to evaluate this is a dermatologist or a cosmetic surgeon. They might be able to be removed or lessened by over the counter things, or you might have to get prescription topical lotions or cremes.
If the scaring is deep or widespread, things like dermabrasion, or if the scars more serious attention, there are treatments such as "Silicone Sheeting," which is non-invasive and requires only diligent use of special sheets of silicone for many weeks to many months to help fade the offending scars.
Some invasive procedures require scar excision and resuturing or "tissue glue" to help reduce the appearance. Some may require "Z-plasty," which is a more serious application.
In any event, you want to consult a dermatologist first, and if they cannot help you with a good guarantee, a cosmetic surgeon unless you can take care of it over the counter yourself. Because of the delicate nature of the skin I personally would not suggest you try to self treat until a dermatologist has given you a professional opinion. You could end up doing more harm than good!

Try using vitamin E oil, you can buy it almost anywhere (grocery store, pharmacy) it is in the health/beauty section with the vitamins. It comes in gel caps which you can poke with a pin and the oil will ooze out. DO NOT get it in your eyes, apply and cover the area with a band-aid or something so the oil will stay on as long as possible.
This works great on scars and lots of other stuff. Vitamin E will get rid of warts too, if you apply it & keep the area covered. Apply the oil 2 or 3 times a day and keep covered.
This stuff is very inexpensive but works like magic!

Yes, there are products out there like Mederma that claim to help get rid of scars. However, I think that the only way to truly get rid of a scar, especially if it's an old one, is to see a dermatologist and talk to him/her about laser surgery.
