Give Rainey your points. That is hilarious, LMAO! He's right, you know. It is pretty cheap to produce crappy food and a lot harder to grow healthy fruits and veggies. In the meantime, dear, you might want to save your pennies, they are coming down in price as spring hits the country...although I'm sure the ones we have now are not local or even American...maybe Mexico?

In the meantime, enjoy the fresh fruits that you can afford, and they are cheapest when they are in a local harvest season of course. You can also see if Polaner etc make a grape fruit spread that is all natural. Kind of like squished grapes in a jar. Or raisins?

I only notice them getting expensive if a storm has wiped out the crops. This happened last year with bananas. They were up to around $15.00 a kilo. Normally around $2 a kilo.

Yeah i hate that!
I saw some in Sainsburys supermarket for 2 quid. So i walked round the corner to the fruit market and bought them for 60 pence!
Lesson is, dont buy fruit at supermarkets!
