Does anyone else here have a devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary?

If yes, tell me what your relationship with her is like and how you act on your devotion.



I myself wear the brown scapular at all times and say at least three Hail Mary's a day (I am currently saying Seven Hail Mary's a day for the seven sorrows of Mary. Look up Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and Our Lady of Sorrows for more details.)

Catholics don't think Mary is a deity. She is many things but there is only one God.

I think Mary was a wonderful woman. She must have been something for God to choose her. However she was a Human. She may be blessed, but it would be wrong for me after reading the Lord's Word to worship or Pray to anyone other than my heavenly father. I believe that she, as probably the first actual Christian, is up in the heavens, but I think she is much saddened by the fact that people are going against God's wishes and commandments and worshipping Humans.

I love my Blessed Mother. To come closer to Her I do what She had asked her children for at Fatima--- I wear the brown scapular and say the daily Rosary. I am yet to fulfill Her desire for the five first Saturdays. I will do it one day .

I would recommend the Seven Sorrows devotion to all those who love Mary. I first read about it in a book where St.Anthony Mary Claret recommends this devotion as a way to grow spiritually. So I started meditating on one Sorrow a day and saying Seven Hail Marys. I found a great change in my spiritual life. I feel closer to my Sorrowful Mother and give Her company while She mourns for Her Son. This devotion has also brought about miracles in my life. I would urge all those who wish to please Mary to consider spending 5 minutes a day with one of Her Sorrows.

And of course, dont forget the daily Rosary. Excellent means of keeping Satan away and protecting your families. Say the whole Rosary. I try to say it as I work so as to complete all five decades. Dont sleep unless you have said your Rosary.

Yes I have a devotion to Mary. I wear a brown scapular also. I love Mary. I try to say the rosary when I can. I used to say it everyday. Now, I ask Mary to intercede for me whenever I am in trouble. She usually helps me. She is a true mother to me. I try to fulfill the first Satuday Mass, communions of reparation and confession and the meditation on the rosary which Mary requested in Fatima. I do this when I can. We have pictures and images of Mary in our house, school, classroom, etc. We offer her flowers when we have a chance. We say the rosary in the car with my mom when we can. We give away rosaries when we have a chance. We give away scapulars and books about the rosary and Mary when we can. We love to hear songs about her. We try to imitate her virtues like her modesty and purity. We ask her to help us live holy purity.

Oh yes, I have a HUGE devotion to our Mother. I was in the Legion of Mary for several years and have had a few visions myself. She is wonderful and shows us so many things. I have had so many miracles with her graces. One time we had a problem with celebrating the Crowning of Mary at our Church (we had a very liberal Liturgy director at that time) so anyway I told the Lord that i was going to Bingo that night and if I won anything I would give half of it to honor our Mother. I won the Satellite Bingo prize of $4,400.00. I just absolutely love it when he shows people how much he loves his Mother. I felt like we (him and I) were two little kids planning how to surprise our Mom with a bouquet of flowers. I really can not explain what she means to me. The Rosary is like pure Mothers milk and I have thought about others that do not honor her and I feel bad for her and I feel bad for them because I have a close friend who was given a vision of Jesus and he was told at judgment the only thing he would ask the people was if they loved his Mother because the answer told him everything. (although he already knew he just wanted them to realize the truth of how he felt about her)

I have a great love for Mary, the mother of Jesus. I do not pray to her nor do I think of her as a Deity. If you do, so be it. Catholics are believers of Jesus and that's good enough for me.

Mary and I have a strange relationship to be sure, there are times I know she is around me, watching me, kinda creepy, but there are times I am very happy to have her near. Sometimes, like a good mother, she has to wag her finger at us, but that doesn't mean she doesn't love us any less.

My roommate awhile ago used to actually see Mary on a semi-regular basis, he was a very devout Catholic and he could tell you a story where Mary intervened directly to keep him alive - yes, a Miracle, and I don't care if people don't believe in them, that is just sad to me really. Call Mary whatever you want to call her, it doesn't matter to me, I personally look at God like in the Oh God movies, if you believe in Allah, he will appear like that, if you believe in ancient Indian spirits, he will appear like that, and so on...

So, yes, I am devoted to Mary, but I don't necessarily believe in her, if that makes any sense at all....I know it doesn't, but ya know what, she knows, so that is all that matters.

You have elected to worship Mary rather than God.We are not to make unto ourselves any graven image of that which is in heaven,on the earth,or below the sea."Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them,NOR SERVE THEM; for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God.."Exodus 20:5a.And don't tell me this isn't worshiping Mary.Take one look at these answers here and anyone can see that.Some even refer to Mary giving them grace.You are guilty of Idolatry and should repent.May God have Mercy on your soul.
