Yes, you are right about katana. These swords are more precisely called as katana.

Non-Japanese usually refer all Japanese sword as samurai. However, samurai actually refer to warrior class in Japanese society.

yes they are but katanas are not the only samurai "swords". samurai also had a short sword called a wakazashi which was worn with the katana traditionally. samurai also carried a dagger called the tanto.
