Eat lots of fruits and vegetables that have bright colors, like carrots, nectarines, apricots, and peaches. All of these fruits and vegetables contain beta-carotene, which is a natural chemical that gives these things their coloring, and thus will give you yours too. Just a little bit of dark tanning accelerator might aid you, but DO NOT wear any without sunscreen. I'm assuming that you sunburn easily, because of your fair complexion, so it's important that you protect yourself adequately against the sun rays with the best sunscreen you can find. I suggest No-ad SPF 30, or whatever you prefer. Also protect your lips with SPF ChapStick or any other good lip balm. Go into the water often when you go tanning, and keep hydrated. Drink lots of water and bring fruits and snacks along with you when you go to the beach or the pool.
Have fun in the sun!

I am fair complected as well. I use a bronzer during the summer time. I have used the tanning bed if I go to the lake or beach alot during the summer but for the most part I stay with the sunless tanners..Neutrogena is the best I have found.

As a former tanning salon owner, let me suggest a bronzing bed. Call all the salons in your surrounding area and find one that has a bronzing bed, or bronzing bulbs. These are great for fair skinned people, as they bronze and do not burn. You can lay longer and build up color faster. The bulbs do not put out as much UVA, but more UVB and therefore will give you a nice golden bronze appearance that so many fair skinned people desire. I have an 18 yr old daughter that is fair complected as well and she has to lay in a bronzing bed to get color, I also will spray tan her after she as achieved some color from the bed. I hope this helps...

if u r very fair, u really should stay away from the sun...fair peple have higher incidence of skin cancer than those who arn't. if u must get a tan go to a tanning salon...in any case if u r on the beach which probably u will go anyway, stay in the sun for periods of 15 minutes at a time... if u stay longer, and u must know this already...u will probably be very sun burned annd that, believe me IS NOT SEXY

I regret the years I spent in the sun. My tip for you would be to use the self tanning products instead. You can even get them sprayed on for a very natural look

Start taking Vitamin A (Beta-Carotin) for like 6 weeks before you want to start tanning, it helps you getting an easier and quicker, loger-lasting tan. Also it helps you to not get burned that easily!

The safest way is to use a self tanner. I like the one by Lancome. Start using it about a month before you want your tan to show.
