If a 14 year old teenager does not feel safe in her home, is there any way for her to leave except suicide? If so, where?
My mom and I are always fighting and my mom (a sociopath) likes to manipulate my sister onto her side and then lie about it to the family counselor. I want to try marijuana to help numb the pain. I have already started cutting, which helps. I think I am on the verge of a major breakdown. I will do anything to get away even if it is suicide. And what can I do to make the counselor believe me? She thinks I am crazy. She doesn't know I cut, am thinking about suicide, or am thinking about trying marijuana. Please help.

If I was to call one of those lines, is it free? And would my name remain anonymous?

the school counselor only tells my mom:( which gets me stuck up in my room without electricity or heat for 9 hours. I don't really like talking to her.

What is your problem? My dad is either a narrcistic person or a sociopath. The counselor said it herself. From my research online, my mom is definately a sociopath. Please don't talk about what you don't know!

You should call 1-800-VICTORY. They work with young people just like you. You won't get the help you need where you are at your home, and the councilor at your public school doesn't sound like any help, either. No, cutting is not going to help, it's a diversion from the pain, that's all. Marijuana isn't going to make the problem go away, cause it will still be there when you come off a high. Call that number, so someone can talk to you.

Dear Amber, I have been looking over your profile, your a level 2! I hate being duped. You said in one question your dad was the sociopath, now its your mom. You appear to have a fixation on attention getting. I would suggest you call a mental health professional and get some counseling. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. If you cant live at home under your parents guidelines then ask to be removed and placed in foster care. 911 is always an option for help.

First, hotlines are anonymous, so use them as often as you need to. Self injury and marijuana are both ways to escape emotional pain. You need to find someone to talk to who feels safe to you. There are people available through the hotlines, through county services, and churches. If you can get in charge of yourself, it is possible in some states to have a court declare you an emancipated minor. In order to do that, you have to be able to be responsible for yourself - find a job and housing you can manage. If it all works out, and you can assume the responsibilities of an adult, a court can give you adult status as young as 14. So, see what you can do to assume more responsibility for yourself and how far that can take you. Good luck.

Listen, hun. Call 1800SUICIDE. It is anonomus, it is for the whole US, assuming you are in the US. I called it before, and it helped me out. They will talk to you, suggest things maybe you have not thought of.
If things get too bad in your home, there was mentioned the DCF, and also (still assuming you are in the US) there is a nationwide "Safeplace" program in effect. All firehouses, police stations, some buisnesses NO HOMES(!) will have a yellow triangle up saying something like "Safe Place", and it is for children and abused women. there is always somewhere you can go.
Suicide is the last resort, there is always something you can do before it, even if it doesn't feel like it.

Please don't try suicide.
I would try getting proof about your mom's behavior and keeping your documentations in a safe place, to give to the counselors and talk to friends, a trusted teacher/school counselor and other family members. Maybe stay at someone's house whom your trust for a few weeks.
I wish you all the best and may God bless you and keep you safe.
