This is most likely to be a hearing amplifier rather than a proper hearing aid. Hearing amplifiers can fit anybody and will amplify sound whereas a hearing aid can only be prescribed to someone who has had a hearing test carried out by a qualified audiologist. The aid will then be programmed to the wearers exact loss, and will be an exact fit for that persons ears.

The advert that you have seen is a one size fits all model and will be fairly uncomfortable. they also wont work in problem situations such as distance, background noise and speech discrimination.

Contact your local hearing aid dispenser for a test - many companys provide free hearing tests, with any charge being for the actual hearing aid. Costs of hearing aid systems (a pair) range from about £1000 to £6500. If you can't afford that then go to your GP who will refer you to your local audiology department, but expect a wait of at least a year to be supplied with a hearing aid.

If you have a problem with your hearing its best to get it checked out as a hearing aid system can totally change a persons life.

I don't have an answer for you but I do recommend that you have your hearing checked by an audiologist. This service is usually free. Also, many insurances pay for hearing aids and I bet that Medicare does too. The Audiologist can give you prices and recommend the best aid for your hearing. They also guarantee performance of their products. I don't trust the one size fits all claims and know that hearing differs from person to person so, just because it fits doesn't mean that it works well. Best luck to you.

Miracle Ear listening to aids are not to any extent further useful or worse than the different listening to help and that they fee sooo plenty extra. Your listening to help is only almost as good using fact the professional worrying and programming your listening to help. I positioned on listening to aids and that i worked for Miracle Ear for 14 years. They closed down their places of work in Tucson, green Valley and Sierra vista suddenly, no severance and no sympathy in anyway to their workers. as quickly as I stated a breach of ethics, i become reprimanded. they're a heartless and grasping employer. Their difficulty for their purchasers is only lip provider. whilst they have your money, you will get little or no help or provider alongside with your listening to help.
