***THE FOLLOWING IS NOT AN EFFORT TO PROVE GOD EXISTS***
The Bible says the following:
God is love.
God is light.
God is peace.
Logically, the verb "to be" in third person, "is", means "equals"
2 + 2 = 4
2 + 2 is 4
Does love exist? And light? Peace?
...Does God exist?
no? Why not? Reason? Logic?
Either:
a) The writers of the Bible were evil liars
b) They were telling the truth
Is there a middle ground here?
Did Jesus offer a middle ground? (wait... I know that one. But I'd like to see your responses)

Your argument assumes a premise, which is that God is love. God is not, in fact, love, because God does not exist, and even if God did exist, it would not necessarily follow that God is love. Of course you're not trying to prove that God exists, because you can't, but that doesn't stop you from building the claim into your question. Lousy logic.
The writers of the Bible were ignorant Bronze Age men with an agenda, which was to make Jesus look like he had been the Messiah, and to explain everything for which there was no explanation at the time.

I believe in God. I do not believe in that biblical monster. Jesus was a good man and a great teacher. He was NOT the son of God anymore than we are all children of God. Unfortunately his words were altered and twisted by ignorant greedy men (Paul) and then altered and twisted again (Pope gregory).
