neither of my cats are spayed and the female cat has her nipples swollen. i think she is pregnant.

So take her to the vet. If she is, you can have an abortion at the same time she is spayed, or she can have the kittens and then you can get her spayed. If she has the kittens make sure she gets spayed as soon as possible after she has the kittens. If they are both girls, there is a problem. If they are male and female then she most likely is pregnant. Male cats get neutered.

I work at the local animal shelter and it saddens me greatly to see the amount of stray and abandoned cats and dogs that come in. Cats more so than dogs. Many of them have been sick with communicable diseases and need to be put down, and that is sad as well because it could have all been avoided if we as owners would take proper care of our animals and get them fixed.

sounds like she is ,the belly will get bigger,you can touch it and maybe feel the baby's moving,keep her inside ,you don't want her to have them out side. fix up a box in a private corner or closet ,she Will go to it when she gets ready to have them.really need to get them spayed they can multiply fast.
