Personally I've got "More than a feeling" that he's not only already there, but that he is just remembering that, like all of us, he never really left. The feeling of separation is the point of the exercise, and the realisation of the untruth of that, the end result.

I hope so...I hope he had made peace with his god before his death. (They are saying suicide...but everything is just speculation at this point.)
