I have all of his pertinent paperwork regarding his purple heart.

Don't send them the originals... they'll lose them. Request duplicates through the website first if you have to.

contact the department of Veterans affairs (VA) or go to there website. There is info on there as to what the process is. You can also contact your local VA office. Any county, state or national VA office. Good luck Hopefully it won't take to long. Probably the fastest way is to contact your local VA Office. Ours here is in the county court house.

Usually you can go to a Army Surplus Store and just purchase one. But if you go to VA website and contact them you might be able to them to see about replacing it.

dont buy one at the surplus store, go the right route the will get the presentation box and everything do it right. if you go to the site for his branch they may help to. they also might be able to provide other things for you
