you will watch a video and practice along with the video in groups of no moor than 3 per CPR dummy. You will learn how to preform CPR for adults, children and infants, as well as how to relieve an airway blockage (Heimlich maneuver). Depending on the coarse you take some courses do indeed have some first aid instruction to them and again that is a video you watch. and you may learn how to use an AED Automated External Defibrillator. There is no moor test to take at the end as long as you are not taking the health care provider CPR coarse, it is the only one that still has a test you have to take at the end. AHA CPR changed this past summer so some different ways of doing CPR were put into place. Like in most situations you will do 30 compressions to 2 breaths on most every body. I varies from Thar if there is 2 people doing CPR on infants it is 15 to 2.
It is a very easy class if you just relax you will have fun.

You will sit through a class room portion where they just explain the reasons to do cpr and how to do it. After that you will practice doing it for real. You will than take a written and practical test at the end. All of which are very easy as long as you pay attention and try to do well. take the class seriously because you may one day need it.

As the others said, A note, the new CPR compression ratio is in play now. Enjoy the class.

The instructor will demonstrate how to perform CPR, and then have you practice until you have it right. It's really quite simple to learn. The hard part is if you have to use it under real conditions and someone's life is at stake.
