he was probably weened too young, if you move he thinks you are going to get up, which isn't what he wants, try giving him lots of love when he is in one of these moods. I have even seen cats nurse on peoples necks, ears and armpits that have been removed from mommy too young.

kneading is love to kitties, its what they do to get milk from their mothers teats when they are babies.

Kneading in cats is an instinctual thing and you will not stop it. My cat does it all the time too. The meowing is just him protesting you moving or getting up. He probably did it once and you didn't leave so he learned if he meowed like that you wouldn't leave. My suggestion if he meows like that just get up and leave him for a few minutes, and he will eventually stop doing it.

cats will do this when they are trying to relax and sometimes they do it when they feel low, maybe your cat left his mama to soon and the kneading comforts him....my cats do it all the time too..it;s a cat kind of thing..when he;s making those noises he;s asking you to stay by him...he;s a gentle giant' and he loves you mom.....he's just trying to talk to you and it comes out like that....good luck to moose and you,,,,,sounds like a special cat,,,,

Usually a cat kneads because it is on something that reminds them of their mother. Kittens use kneading to get milk when they are nursing.

It seems he is just a loving cat that demands a lot of comfort or attention. It could be his way of saying you are his.

welll this is pretty much your cats way of showing affection as weird as it sounds. It's almost like a mating thing...
