We're jerks because when we show our feelings we get ridiculed and humiliated.

Very few females actually want a guy to "show their feeilings" although they might SAY they do
More importantly their DNA says to avoid precisely such men and odds are very high it will rachet down the critical "chemistry" women crave like crack cocaine
"Showing feelings" would be a good way for a man to get killed during early man's 3 to 5 million yr evolutionary period - as it would represent weakness to a potential enemy

From a guys point of view, (you know, since I'm a guy and might know a little about these things) we are afraid of being turned down. We fear rejection. We think that if we open up to someone, that person will rip our guts out with cupids arrow smothered in bar-b-cue sauce. So if we act like a jerk, don't take it personally, that guy just isnt at that level yet where he feels confortable opening up. Give him some time, and maybe, just maybe he'll give you a little in return.

This is what we call left brain right brain logic. Men think with the left side of there brain and women think with the right side of there brain. They do show some feelings but we get the wrong impression of it. I agree that they come off as jerks but it is life and I believe that if we women put our heads togeather we could be the same way with them and they would be on here asking the same question about us.

Well, the few times I tried to be a feeling kind of person, everyone acted as if I had performed some terrible act. Why should I show my feelings when everyone just misinterprets them and then insults me? Forget feelings, all they did was get in the way of what I should have done: be silent.

So men are jerks because they don't show there feelings? I don't know about other guys but i am not one bit afraid to show my feelings. The only thing that i am afraid of are women that have total disregard for them. That's most of what i have met.

Because the testosterone shuts down the emotional part of the brain from birth. Don't expect to have an emotionally intelligent conversation with a guy. Don't expect them to show there feelings either, because unless they are gay they are not wired to show feelings because they are emotional retarded from birth. Get a good pet instead.

Because as youngsters we are told by our fathers dont cry, or cant really talk about sensitive issues.
It starts young, and continues as you get older.
If you cry or show love, youre a punk.
However girls also help contribute to this behavior.
Guys may poor their hearts out, but then girls back away from them because they get scared of the guy expressing himself. So guys get sheltered and dont really let out how they feel so they dont get hurt. Its kind of like a defensive mechanism to stop us from getting hurt.
Some guys just eventually treat women as toys and objects and try not to get attached.

It is not always the guys it may just be you...... They may not want to scare you off or they may not feel the way that you do... Jus give it time to see where it is going before you assume that they are all jerks.
