I can only tell you this, If you are truly sincere, and you find a quiet and still place and you Fast and pray, God will talk to you in Spirit or in scripture, or even in a soft still Voice.
If you do not believe, you can not hear. If you do not believe, you will never understand the words of God. But, if you do believe, then you can definately converse with God just as you would your Parent or Best friend. You can Also feel his presence, some even have had the Holy spirit decend upon them. Some have seen Jesus in Visions, others in a Bright Orra of light.; and Lastly, you never know when you are entertaining an Angel sent by God. Personnally I have seen a few, I have Talked with God, Try to do it on a Daily Basis, I have Felt His presence, I have embraced His Holy Spirit. I have seen the Hands of God at work, I have witnessed many miracles. I have seen Diabetes Healed, I have seen a man stricken with Paulsy Healed, I have seen cancer Healed. I myself was in a horrific car wreck, Head-on collision with a concrete Bridge at 96 mph. , my car went up over the power lines and hit the top of the structure head on and flipped end over several times. I was trapped inside and it took Rescuers
1hr45min to free me, I was called in as D.O.A., My parents could not take the heart break, so my Sister came to recieve me at the Hospital. I called out to God while in the Ambulance,
the EMTs could not hear me, they shut off their lights, but by the time we arrived at the Hospital, God Healed me and I walked away with minor injury. I talked to the first responder and He told me that it is a Miracle because my right leg was twisted behind me, the motor and tranny was in my lap, my torsoe and shoulders were turned 180%and laid back in the back seat and my head was turned 180% from my torso and facing up out of the rear window. I busted the steering column
with my chest on impact, the passenger seat was tore loose and the door was wrapped around to the top of the car, If you ever squeezed and then crushed a pop can, this is what my car looked like. I spoke, God Listened, I am ALIVE!!

Sort of. I communicate with my voice of reasoning. It's not really a spiritual being, but at times it's a lot smarter than I am.

That's a symptom of a psychotic illness. Perhaps a manic episode in a bipolar individual.
Yes, I've had friends go through this, but when their medication got straightened out they got better.
