Labonte will not win a race this year. I definitely think he could be the dark horse in a lot of races this season.. But the logistics of him ACTUALLY winning are pretty slim. I don't think that's entirely his fault though. I mean, whens the last time Petty Enterprises WON A RACE? He's driving a 50/50 car.. for a 40/60 team! Petty Enterprises needs to look @ other things before expecting to win again. Something DRASTIC has to be changed @ the operation before anyone will be successful I think. As for Bobby.. I think he may need to look @ other rides.. As this one isn't working out as intended. Sure that prestigious #43 car has gotta be fun to drive.. Looks @ its history! But if he wants to be a CHAMPIONSHIP contender again.. He needs to find some better equipment.

Bobby Labonte has a good shot winning a race this year and it might as well be this Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway, where he holds one of the best track records among active drivers. But, he does have stiff competition from Chevys as they are off to a really strong start this year. Even if he doesn't this week, wait until they start using the "Car of Tomorrow" that Petty Enterprises has been involved in its development since the beginning.

It's commendable that Bobby went to Petty Enterprises to try and help them rebuild, actually build (they've NEVER been very good), that team last year. With getting Robbie Loomis they are making strides but I think Bobby will not win a race as long as he stays there. If Petty keeps adding the right personnel and is committed to spending the money on research and development they could get there someday. Kyle needs to get out of the 45 car and let someone else have their shot and Richard needs to continue the direction they started going. They are at least trying trying to field competitive teams and building a new shop last year was a good move on their part.

Yes bobby will win again maybe not thi year but soon i figured with petty bringin in all the powerhouses that they would have a chance but obvoisly it hasnt now with tony stewart and gibbs racing i truly believe gibbs is pouring his money into his gold mine tony bobby is an excellent driver but if u dont have the right equipment you can not win races how in the world can u have two different teams from the same owner be so far apart i think gibbs treated bobby wrong and commed him for leaving but also think he should leave petty to i love the petty boys but they need to hang up there helmets espeacially kyle if bobby can get a decent ride he will be in victory lane

I hope and think Labonte can win one this year because he's driving the #43 and I've been a Richard Petty fan since 1979 and Richard's still walking the earth.
There committed to turning it around and that's why they hired Bobby.
Bobby and Kyle live near each other and used to run into each other jogging. Kyle used to ask Bobby to drive never thinking Bobby really would so I don't see the Petty's just letting him go anytime soon. (Remember Jeff Green)
As far as Bobby retiring or going elsewhere I don't know.

I would have to say that Bobby is the best driver at Petty since Adam was driving. He has already done a lot for the program. If anyone can get Petty a win, it will be Bobby.
rubbin is racin!

Bobby Labonte has had it rough for the past several years. He will be in his home state of Texas on April 15 and may do well there with the extra support. Regarding the previous answer to mine for this question, age is relative.....Dale Earnhardt #3....nuff said!!

He won't lose his ride....He's close to a win...Bobby and Tony don't have anywhere near the same driving style and Tony can drive a cardboard box and win. Bobby is more methodical and is getting used to the car and team. By the way, its Labonte.
