Yes. All these people saying no can't take a punch. Punching yourself lightly then building up the power behind the punch helps you learn to contract your abs tighter. This also helps for other exercises to help recruit muscles your having trouble using in compound exercises. The lats in pull-ups are a good example. I hit myself in the stomach to strengthen specifically the solar plexus area. My friend Brian can take a punch from anybody using this method. Some prison gangs do burpees and when they jump up whack themselves in the solar plexus. You can also get your friend to punch you in the stomach. Don't listen to the little girls. I think in Rocky that was just an exercise to learn how to take punches better (For boxing) not for strengthening the abs.

If you punch yourself hard enough to tear, you might actually do some real damage. Not a good idea!

Not much, but ur muscles get bigger by getting small tears and then healing. if u punch urself hard enough to make a tear, probaly
