Call the customer service for WaMu and ask if they will raise it. That is all it takes for some credit card companies to increase your limit.

I would avoid credit cards if at all possible. I am a slave to credit card debt because no one warned me and now I just can't get out. My life is miserable because I don't have free money to spend and all this was unecessary because I could have just lived on a cash basis.

Only debt you should have is for a home, real estate that appreciates. Buy cheap cars with $1,000 cash like a 1993 Ford Escort (high rated per Consumer Reports) and invest the rest where it can appreciate. Avoid the Hell of debt if at all possible!

It's going to depend on several factors. If you want it raised before you even start using it for a given period of time then start pulling your bank account records and other credit payments. They're going to look at every single aspect of your credit history to make sure you're good for this new limit.

If you don't want to go through all that use the card for a given amount of time, keep on top of payments don't get behind etc and they'll offer it to sooner or later.

usually a place on the card website where you can request an increase. They may have a minimum amount of time you from when you first got card and first increase, and a time between too. cards automatically increase at different times according to your rating with them.
