It's difficult to give you an answer without knowing you, your habits, lifestyle, and how much and long you have been drinking.

At least you are not into the hard stuff (?). A few tips that may help:

1.) Avoid hanging out in bars.
2.) Avoid people and situations involving drinking.
3.) Don't use alcohol to cure a hang-over, aleviate boredom, drown feelings, ect.
4.) Get involved in activities, hobbies, projects.

Try to stop for a while so you have some time to think about it with a clear mind. Excessive drinking is usually a symptom of issues and feelings which need to be dealt with (escape). Eventually, with continued drinking, the physical and habitual dependency grows and becomes harder to deal with as time passes. At least get some information and education on the subject to help you decide. Should be info. available on the net, but don't jump on the Alcoholics Annonymous bandwagon right off without more insight. Good luck!

Attend some AA meetings or find some friends that don't drink. Find some things to do, that doesn't require drinking to have a good time. Take up jogging or go the the gym, perhaps get a job to fill the time you have to drink (you'll actually have some money in the end).

I drink at least a 12 pack sometimes more every single day. I've been trying to quit for along time. I have your same problem so when you find an answer E-mail me.

Stop going to bars/liquor stores for a few months. Or if you like going out with friends, offer to be the designated driver. That's how I stopped drinking a lot.

You just have to quit completely. When you feel tempted chew gum or get some non-alcoholic beer. It's tough if you feel you cannot do it yourself then you can go to AA meetings. I know several people who have had success with AA programs.

Be strong and tell yourself "I won't drink a beer. I am trying to quit."
Don't be tempted by friends.

Good thinking! Instead of going to a group like AA, you post this question to a bunch of kids who couldn't tell you jack ****!

You'll die young, I'm sure.
