When braided line was first introduced on the market there was some talk that it would wear grooves in a rod's eyes. I have been using for over 10 years and I have never had it damage any of my rods. I have heard stories of it wearing grooves in the cheap metal eyes of very cheap rods but never in ceramic or any of the high quality eyes found on the better fishing rods. Go ahead and string it onto your rig and just keep a close watch on the condition of your rod's eyes , especially the eye on the tip..........this is where most of the wear is going to take place, if at all.

I've used spider wire for over 2 years, and my guides are just fine.

It's a load of hype!!

The unsightly stick is obtainable interior the spincast form besides. For a spincast reel with the intention to stand the try of time as heavy fishing is the Penn spinfisher manufacturers. The Penn Spinfisher SS Graphite reels form from the ultralight 420SSg to the 550SSg, and the Spinfisher steel is offered in a 650 to a 950. i take advantage of the Penn Spinfisher 950SSm loaded with 30lb Stren good sized sport line on a 7ft grotesque Stick MH action rod for saltwater fishing. I positioned 4 King Mackerels over 40lbs each and 15 Bonita 10-15lbs each interior the boat 2 Sundays interior the previous, and final Sunday I positioned a 8 foot Bull shark alongside edge the boat with this rod/reel blend. sure, I had to chase the shark, in spite of the indisputable fact that the mixture held up. On somewhat word- Spiderwire and fireplace line replaced into designed for use on a baitcaster reel. they are flat in layout instead of being around, so as that it lays smoother on the spindle of the baitcaster. once you utilize spiderwire or hearth line on a spincast reel, it is going to cut back into itself once you hook massive/tough suffering with fish. wish that this facilitates. shelter your hooks sharp and your mind sharper!

No harm, No foul.
The ceramic guides are very abrasion resistant.

No I've never heard of that happening. If you have any worries they do have fusion lines which have a mono coating on them and are better for casting anyway.
