hmm thats tough. Maybe you should try seeing someone else for a while? Because if hes not in love with you, then what's the point. Do you think he sees you as a friend who's a little more than a friend? I'm not really sure of the situation.
Its strange that you've been going out for so long and he still feels this way.
I would suggest asking him (I really believe in communication!!). Seriously ask him why. When you get the answer, if you feel like he will never be in love with you, go on a break.
Because, im sorry to say, but he may just love you the way he loves all his other friends.
But don't take it too hard. I mean there are plenty of other fish in the sea who I'm sure would love to get to know you.
Don't feel like you wasted for years of your life because you probably learned a lot during that time and have become better with men. And after what seems to be a serious relationship, just go out and have fun again with your girlfriends.
Hope that helps!

Perhaps you guys should just be friends. You relationship might 'seem' good, but if he's not in love with you, you're missing out on a lot. You've been together 4 years, which means you know almost everything about each other. Maybe it's time to venture out and get to know yourself without him. Sorry, I know that hurts, but sometimes change is the best thing. You deserve a man who is so in love with you that he'd lasso the moon for you.

That would really bother me if someone said that to me. But to my interpretation, he means that he thinks you're jsut a girl that is fun to hang out with and talk to. He doesnt see you as the girlfriend he wants. Well maybe you can change that and hopefully make him be "in love with you", instead of just "loves you."

That means that you're a convienient. Stop giving the sex and see how much "not in love" he'll be.

I bet you he'll become so insecure that he'll say anything. The sex and the time you give to him have created a sense of comfort in his mind. So much so that he can tell you that he's not in love with you.

Turn his world upside down and make him eats his words. Stop giving him sex and so much time on the phone etc....
Make him beg. Make him put you on a pedestal. Show him that you are not easy. That he has to earn your love.

Listen, closely: break-up with him, and go your own serparate way,

Or, continue in a relationship with somebody who's already told you that his feelings for you are not the same as yours, for him. Expect him to cheat. Being IN love with a person makes you so besotted with him/her that you can't even IMAGINE being with someone else. When you merely "love" someone, with out the deeper feelings, there's nothing to stop you from cheating.

He's done you a favor. You can either get out, NOW...OR, you could end up like one of those pathetic women who pop up on JERRY SPRINGER/MAURY POVICH, whining about being in love with a man who treats them like trash (which is a strategy men use to make a woman so mad, they'll leave us.)

Well, it sounds to me like you are his good time girl, but not someone he wants to settle down with. It appears you are not his first choice of life partners. There are many people whom I love, but would not want to live with every day. Call him a friend from now on, and move on to someone who will be a partner in every way.
Good luck

sounds like he cares about you but doesnt want to be with you...in other words he needs space or wants to be with someone else. can you ask him what he means, if he loves you why he doesnt want to be with you? you could try playing hard to get, a lot of guys go crazy when girls do that and then end up wanting to be with her....good luck girl

hmm, well i take that to mean he cares about you, loves you, but like a friend. you should always (and only) be IN love with your partner. so it'd sadden him to see you hurt, but he doesnt love you like a bf should. just my 2 cents
