It doesn't mean anything. It's just a name. Like John. Well, John means something. Bad example. Shizu!!

There is a Japanese word shizu, as in shizu-ga-ya, meaning a "humble" or lowly cottage. It is not a name.

The best I could figure is it is the suffix "ism". I couldn't find anything for shizu itself, but many things with it in them. And they all seemed to have 'ism' in them.

Shizu's are small hairy dogs, so I guess it means small and hairy.
