how can I put my band logo over a picture without any background behind the logo?

I just want the picture with just the lettering on top of it. I want it to be as if I typed it on.

Im not sure if Windows Paint can do it, but maybe Ir Fan View can.

Open a new document as a .PNG (Not a .jpg or .gif) and zoom up really close with an eraser and erase what you dont want. Then make sure to save it as a .png.

Then copy and paste it over the picture you want it over.

open the pic w/paint and use the text tool that has a button with a transparent background.
