I am a Catholic and Catholics have received a lot of bashing on this site. Now I know what it feels to be persecuted and verbally abused. If there is anything I have learned, I think it is humility and tolerance for other people's attitudes and beliefs.
Peace and every blessing!

That many atheists, biologists, and other non-religious(secular humanists) people really like to bash on Christians simply because we believe there is a God.
I mean hey, if you want to believe we all came from matter that was smaller than a period, then go ahead but not everyone believes such lies.....
And as far as Christians shoving religion down their throats, well they need to clean out their own backyards before they come in mine.
I have learned what exactly pushes my buttons, and how to respond to certain people. I've learned that I'm the type of person if you push, then I'll push back....
I have found that most evolutionists(biologists, for those who get affended) really believe that evolution is real, except they deny the fact that they believe in it, which is really stubborn and dumb, but hey they can beleive what they want.
They refuse to look at evidence that disproves their theory and claim that anyone who does not accept it is either dumb, or ignorant. They ask me well you don't really understand the complexity of evolution, believe me, I may be fifteen but I understand it, and realize that scientists will do anything to move away from God/Creator....
There is more but that is all for now

That it's pretty much like the real world, there are many truly spiritual people out there, some religious, some not, some athiest even, and some people out there who think they're religiously righteous, or righteously atheist, but they are just (insert expletive)The trappings and forms may be different, but at the heart of it all, truly spiritual people know how to look at things to gain understanding of the deeper truths, and find joy in thier faith, without being threatened by people who find thier truths differently...we're all looking for the same things underneath it all really. (except the trolls maybe) (I plan to go to the Summerland, though, and expect I will likely be back here a few more times)
Edit: But as for the "bashing" that goes on around here, I think that might seem more intense. I say seem, because if we were walking around on the street in real time, we would be holding our individual opinions, but not as likely to be expressing them like this But here, the opinions all come out. I don't think that's a reason to go around beating up on people, though, people can have and share thier views without getting nasty and insulting.

On the one hand, I've found similar to what you've found- God is God, Jesus is Jesus and all Christians believe in them both, is some variation or another.
On the other hand, I've also learned that there are bigoted ignorant people who would prefer beliving the sensational over the truth.... And they come in all colors, creeds, ages, etc.

Err.. no my goal isn't to be with Jesus in heaven, he's your God not mine. When I die I plan to be with my ancestors and Gods in Asgard.
I have learned much about some other religions from people I have befriended.Namely Islam, I have befriend two great people here who practice such (Pround Muslimah and Adia Arek). And even more to my surprise I have befriended a Christian.
And I have also, unfortunately learned that some people of a certain religion (and no, I'm not referring to Christianity it's another Pagan religion) have some seriously hostility towards Asatru. This saddens me greatly.
And... I have learned that as odd as it may seem me being a polytheist and all, I get along best with secular atheists. And also, that certain of them know a great deal about my religion...I had one atheist who I have much respect for tell me that if Ragnarök happens it would be a honor to do cross swords with me. I took that as one of the nicest compliments I had ever recieved online.

I have discovered that there are a lot of people here are going to miss Heaven because they refuse God's love by rejecting His Son, Jesus the Christ, and His shed blood.

I have learned to accept others opinions. To realize everyone has a different point of view. To try to respect what others say and I have learned what a troll does. I have also learned that there are many people against Christianity, and my need to defend it more.
